Podium Microphones - Gooseneck Microphones

Your Pulpit should be the first place you put a great Microphone!

For a pulpit or lectern it is best to get a good gooseneck microphone and install it with a shockmount. There are models that have an attached base as well. Using traditional handheld microphones are typically not the best answer as you need to be much closer to the microphone for it to properly pick up your voice. This makes you have to “hover” over the mic as you speak. True pulpit mics are designed to provide good sound pick up between 6 and 12 inches from mouth to microphone. They are also very thin and less conspicuous which is better for the aesthetics of your church. A pulpit mic requires the use of phantom power.
