Passive Mixers - Non-Power Audio Mixers

Your mixer is your sound system's command center. The quality of the sound that your audience hears is directly proportional to the quality of the mixer you select! Consider: Quality of components, design, long-term reliability, sound quality- as well as price!

Channels
– Every channel that a mixer has allows the signal of one (mono) input source (mic, instrument, etc.) to flow into your mixer. Every stereo device (CD/TAPE player, DVD player, etc.) requires a stereo input - which is usually referred to as 2 channels. We recommend that you select a mixer with at least 25% more channels than you currently need. This will give you sufficient room to grow. Remember, no one complains about having too many channels on their mixer.

AUX Sends – AUX sends allow you to channel sound somewhere other than your main loudspeakers. Generally you’ll want at least 2 AUX sends. One for a stage monitor mix, and one for output to your recording devices. The more AUX sends the better!
