Every GEM cassette duplicator has no belts, gears, or clutches to wear out - ever! They're completely direct-drive! Not even a rewind belt.
They were designed by the same engineers who designed the space shuttle flight simulator display terminals. The engineers designed these duplicators so that each cassette position has three heavy-duty motors to support it - a capstan motor, a take-up motor, and a separate rewind motor.
Each duplicator also has its own digital microprocessor. A phased fast rewind gently slows down your cassettes to protect your message.
Every GEM duplicator features a superior heavy-duty capstan motor that is entirely encased in metal. This motor provides the energy to the capstan to pull the tape across the heads. There's one for each cassette pocket. Each of these motors has an oversized capstan shaft for greater tape stability and better speed stability. Each motor has true ball bearings, cutting down on friction and giving better tape handling, improved speed, accuracy, and far superior wow and flutter.
The wow and flutter is so low it's virtually inaudible - you'll have to measure it on a scope if you want to find it. These incredible motors are mounted on an all-steel plate to hold them firmly in place. You'll love the copies these GEM duplicators make!
